Testes

The testes (singular testicle) are the reproductive organ (gonad ?) of boys and men. They are located within the scrotum, which is between the legs at the bottom of the abdomen and below the penis. The testicles are where sperm are created and also testosterone ?. The testes are the male equivalent to the female ovaries. Hundreds of millions of sperm are produced on average in the testes every day!

Boys usually have two testes, but can have one or three or more. It's usual for them to be a different size and for one to hang lower (usually the right) than the other.

During puberty the testes grow dramatically, and become capable of generating sperm.
