Egg

The human egg, or ovum (plural ova, both based on the Latin for egg), is a biological cell present in a woman's body, in the ovaries, since birth. The egg is the female gamete?.

Once a girl has hit puberty once every menstrual cycle an egg is grown from a mini, microscopic, proto-egg in an ovary. It is then propelled down the Fallopian tubes to the uterus. If a sperm meets the egg and enters it, called fertilising, conception occurs and a new baby starts to form. This is where babies come from. If no sperm fertilises the egg the egg disintegrates and is reabsorbed by the girl's body.

The egg is one of the largest cells of the human body, and is about 10 million times larger than a single sperm. Wikipedia says it can typically be viewed from the naked eye.
