PituitaryGland

The pituitary gland is a small gland located at the bottom of the brain in both boys and girls. This gland is what gets puberty started in both sexes. It sends hormones to the testes in boys and the ovaries. The hormone testosterone? is released from the testes and the hormone estradiol (a kind of estrogen?) is released from the ovaries. These hormones cause all the bodily changes that happen during puberty.
