Hormones
Hormones are chemical signals in your body from one part of your body to another. Both boys and girls get hormones and they remain in adulthood?.
In puberty the pituitary gland gets hormones started from the testes and the ovaries. Boys, who have testes, get the hormone testosterone? and girls, who have ovaries, get the estrogen? family of hormones.
See the articles on testosterone and estrogen (when I write them) to understand a lot about your body and who you are. It's generally believed that hormones drive you crazy in adolescence, possibly because they're extra strong, possibly because they vary widely, and possibly because you're not used to them yet. It's not easy in adulthood either.
