A tampon is an absorbent pen-shaped object that is inserted into an adolescent girl or woman's vagina to absorb blood and mucosal fluid (menstrual fluid?) emitted into the vagina menstruation. I don't have any guides on how to choose which one to buy or how to insert or remove them, but I should at least link to them.

Change your tampon every 4-8 hours.

Apparently there's different sizes for how much you are flowing.

Tampons can occasionally cause a girl's vaginal corona (hymen) to stretch or tear, so I don't recommend them for virgins. (The convenience of a tampon is not a good enough reason to have sex to lose your virginity.)

I have heard of girls dying due to toxic shock syndrome from tampons, but overall they seem safe.
