Vulva

The vulva (pronounced VUL-vuh) is the external (on the outside of the body) genitalia (genitals) of a girl and woman. It's located below the bottom of the stomach between the legs, in much the same way that the penis and scrotum are below the bottom of the stomach and between the legs on boys and men (though male genitalia is more to the front and the vulva is more to the middle of the body or bottom of the torso).
The vulva consists of the mons pubis?, labia majora (outer lips), labia minora (inner lips), clitoris, the exit of the urethra? (pee hole), and the entrance to the vagina is also in the vulva. The outside of the vulva, I mean outside of the labia majora, and the rest of the crotch area is usually covered with pubic hair in adolescents and adults?. The vulva is definitely a private part.
In the diagram of the vulva on this page, the vulva is open and each part is annotated. In real life the vulva is usually closed, that is, the labia majora and minora are closed and close together. The colours in the diagram are not realistic, which I think is good so it doesn't look too sexy. (I like the term vaginal corona instead of hymen.) See below about how in real life vulvas vary.
Like all the other private parts, vulvas come in all different shapes and sizes, and there is no wrong or unattractive one to have. The inner vulva parts (everything inside the labia majora, or outer lips) are usually brownish, pinkish, or some of each, probably for all races. It's normal for the labia minora (inner lips) to be different shapes and/or sizes on each side. Apparently there are all different kinds of vaginal coronas (hymens), too.
If you are a girl or woman and you want to get a mirror and take a look at your vulva, that is okay. It is perfectly normal and appropriate to know what your own private parts look like.
The vulva is often called the vagina, but the vagina is internal (on the inside of the body). We've got to get the word out for better sex education and sex, vulva for girls' external genitals!
