Gonorrhoea

Gonorrhoea or gonorrhea is an STI. It is a bacterial infection that is spread through all kinds of sex, penis-in-vagina sex, oral sex, anal sex, manual sex. It can also be transferred from a mother? to a child in birth?.

Infected boys and men? may have pain or burning in peeing, discharge from the penis, or testicular pain. Infected girls and women may have burning in peeing, vaginal discharge, vaginal bleeding while not menstruating?, or pelvic pain.

Many people infected with gonorrhoea have no symptoms. If untreated, gonorrhoea can spread to the joints or heart valves.

Gonorrhoea can be easily prevented with abstinence and monogamy? (with someone who is not infected). Safer sex can help, too. Contraception pills don't help.

Gonorrhoea affects less than 1% of people worldwide. It is not one of the more deadly STIs but it is still bad.

If you get the symptoms above see a doctor and do what he or she tells you to and you should be okay.
