STI

An STI is a sexually transmitted infection. (Used to be called sexually transmitted disease, and before that, venereal disease.) It means infections that you can get from sexual activity.

Here are the STIs:

Telling youth about STIs is sometimes done to scare them into not having sex. That's not an all bad idea, since children and adolescents shouldn't be having sex, but STIs are a real concern that you need to be aware of before you have sex.

Wearing a condom or dental dam? during sexual activity can help reduce the chance of an STI spreading, but see each STI's page on how to prevent it from spreading.

Most STIs would die out in one generation if we practiced monogamy?. We're doing this to ourselves.
